Training and Resources for Researchers

RCR TRAINING INFORMATION

Florida International University promotes responsible conduct of research practicing high standards of ethics and accountability in planning, implementation, behavior and information dissemination.  Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to provide safe work environments, which foster the values of a shared responsible community.

Effective July 15, 2008: The RCR Training will be required for all graduate students filing an M2 Form or D3 Form submission with the University Graduate School (UGS). Please direct all M2 and D3 submission questions to the UGS office staff.

This training is also required for all students and employees supported by NIH and all other funding agencies in the U.S. Public Health Service (a listing of PHS agencies can be found at http://www.hhs.gov/pharmacy/pp/DHHSpresent).  The RCR certificate program is intended for all “research staff” in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Intramural Research Program (IRP) who have “direct and substantive involvement in proposing, performing, reviewing or reporting research, or who receive research training.” That includes senior investigators, tenure-track investigators, staff scientists and clinicians, research and clinical fellows, pre– and postdoctoral trainees, technicians, research nurses, and special volunteers or guest researchers involved in these activities. This program fulfills the training requirement for individuals supported on research and training grants from the NIH and Public Health Service (PHS).
